Suspected Gunman Arrested in Kaduna Found with Serving Nigerian Brigadier-General's Complimentary Card

The Nigeria Police Force, Kaduna State Command, has announced a significant breakthrough in crime prevention and detection with the apprehension of a suspected gunman possessing a complimentary card belonging to a serving Brigadier General of the Nigerian Army.

According to a statement issued by the police command’s spokesman, ASP Mansir Hassan, the arrest was made following solid intelligence obtained from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Maraban Jos Division.

The suspect, identified as Salim Aliyu, a 22-year-old resident of Badarawa Kwaru in Kaduna North, was apprehended with alarming items, including an AK47 rifle with live ammunition, a Nigerian Immigration Service camouflage singlet and face cap, a sharp knife, and a wallet containing a First Bank ATM card and the aforementioned complimentary card.

During interrogation, Aliyu confessed to being on a robbery mission to Maraban Jos. As CP Ali Audu Dabigi emphasised, the successful operation underscores the Kaduna State Police Command’s commitment to maintaining state law and order.

The incident raises concerns about the proliferation of armed criminal activities in Kaduna and highlights the importance of increased vigilance and cooperation from residents to combat crime effectively.
