Nigerian Police Confirm Death of 14-Year-Old Girl in Hotel Room with Lover

Tragedy struck in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State, as the Nigeria Police Force confirmed the untimely demise of Shallon Ebitare, a 14-year-old girl, while in the company of her 17-year-old lover, Lucky Okubo, in a hotel room.

Reports indicate that the unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday when Shallon and her boyfriend checked into a hotel room in Yenagoa. Shockingly, Shallon collapsed and passed away in the hotel bathroom.

Prompt action saw Shallon rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Yenagoa for urgent medical attention. However, despite efforts to save her, she was tragically pronounced dead.

Sources reveal that Shallon and Lucky had been romantically involved for several months before the heartbreaking event.

In response to the incident, the Bayelsa State Police Command swiftly apprehended Lucky Okubo, Shallon’s boyfriend, on suspicion of murder.

ASP Musa Muhammed, the spokesperson for the Bayelsa State Police Command, issued a statement confirming the incident and the subsequent arrest. He stated, “Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Bayelsa State Police Command apprehended a suspect in connection with the suspected murder of one Shallon Ebitare, ‘f’ a 14-year-old resident of Akaibiri Community in Yenagoa LGA.”

Muhammed added, “The suspect claimed that the deceased went to the bathroom to take her bath but fell and sustained injuries.

Sequel to this, he invited the hotel manager who assisted in taking the deceased to FMC Yenagoa, where she was confirmed dead by a medical doctor on duty.

Meanwhile, the suspect is in custody at the SCID Yenagoa while the investigation continues with a view to ascertaining the cause of death.”

As investigations unfold, the circumstances surrounding Shallon’s tragic death remain under scrutiny, with authorities working diligently to uncover the truth.
