Abia State Police Arrest Suspect in Murder of Abia State University Student

The Abia State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in the investigation of the murder of Emmanuel Uche, a 500-level student at Abia State University. Emmanuel Victor, the principal suspect in the case, has been apprehended by police detectives.

The incident occurred in front of Miracle Lodge, Uturu, and was captured in a viral video that surfaced on March 11, 2024. Following credible intelligence, a police detective from the Abia State Police Command arrested Emmanuel Victor on April 18, 2024, at Isiukwuato.

According to the state commissioner of police, Kenechukwu Onwumelie, Emmanuel Victor was identified as the individual seen committing the murder in the viral video. The suspect has since confessed to the crime and is currently in police custody, awaiting court proceedings.

The arrest marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the murder of Emmanuel Uche. It sends a strong message that perpetrators of such crimes will be brought to justice.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, two prominent loyalists of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara were arrested in Abuja during a crucial National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Lawmaker Sokari Goodboy and PDP chieftain Ezebunwo Ichemati were taken into custody by the police outside the meeting venue on Thursday.
