Former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello Facing Trial Amid Fleeing Allegations

Former Governor of Kogi State Yahaya Bello allegedly plans to flee the country amid reports of his involvement in financial misconduct. According to Naija News, Bello narrowly avoided arrest when the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided his residence in Abuja.

Sources revealed to the Sahara Reporter that Bello intends to escape to a North African country where one of his wives resides and manages their investments.

Reports suggest that Bello possesses two passports, one from a North African country and another from an Arab nation, indicating significant investments abroad. Sources close to the situation disclosed Bello’s intention to relocate to Morocco, where he reportedly has substantial financial interests. Additionally, Bello is said to have investments in Dubai.

Ex-Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello is under scrutiny for financial misconduct, with reports suggesting plans to flee amidst mounting allegations.

During Bello’s tenure as governor, several sources claim that most of Kogi State suffered neglect and a lack of development. Allegations of enslavement, occultic practices, and unreported killings have surfaced, painting a grim picture of his administration.

Critics challenge Bello’s media team to highlight any significant developmental projects outside of specific areas favoured by his administration.

The prevailing sentiment among many is that Bello’s governance was marred by mismanagement, corruption, nepotism, and oppression. Some speculate that Bello is preparing to seek bail abroad with significant financial resources at his disposal.

As the situation unfolds, concerns grow regarding the potential flight of a former governor facing serious allegations of financial impropriety.
