Exploring Tech's Role in Gender Equity: NBAWF Conference Third Plenary Session Revealed

We are delighted to announce the speakers for our upcoming 4th Annual General Conference and International Women’s Day Event happening live in Lagos on Thursday, 21st & Friday, 22nd March 2024, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria, with the theme ‘Beyond the Balance Sheet: Redefining Success for Women in Law’.

In our Third Plenary Session, themed ‘The Role of Technology in Advancing Gender Equity, ‘ Rotimi Ogunyemi, Ifeoma Ben, Ope Olusaga, and Olubukola Ogunsakin will speak.

Rotimi Ogunyemi: Partner Johnson & Wilner / BOC LEGAL
He is an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) attorney with years of critical experience in commercial legal practice and core expertise in handling legal issues relating to ICTs. He is Co-Chair of the Digital NBA, where he co-leads the effort to re-design a robust digital identity ecosystem for the association of over one hundred and twenty thousand lawyers, leveraging the national identity management infrastructure; and Chair of the ICT Committee, NBA-Section on Business Law.

Ifeoma Ben is a partner in the lawsuit. She is an accomplished law professional with experience in presenting and delivering solutions and services in the legal field. She is a results-driven professional who has worked well in breaking down the barriers between the functions and the business, delivering momentum with greater efficiency and effectiveness. Her core areas include Corporate Commercial Law, Blockchain, FinTech, Real Estate, Intellectual Property, and Arbitration.

Ope Olusaga is the Managing Director of Law Pavilion. He is a foremost Legal Tech Expert and I.T. consultant, passionate about Legal Technologies and the Acceleration of Access to Justice in Africa. He is an innovative social entrepreneur passionate about empowering professionals to increase their productivity and efficiency.

Olubukola Ogunsakin is the Principal and Head of BBO Solicitors. She is an ‘Emerging Technology’ Lawyer primarily working with clients in emerging technology areas such as NFTs, Metaverse, Crypto Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Data Privacy. She has 20 years of experience in Strategy and project management. She is also a Web3 legal Consultant with InterStellar Inc. and volunteers as Director of Strategy at E4E.

The Panel will be moderated by Irene Pepple, the Head of Practice at Peacemakers Legal Consultancy. She is a business Attorney and a child and women’s Rights Advocate. She specializes in Corporate and Commercial Law, Intellectual Property Law, and Power and Family Law. She has over 22 years of active practice and offers legal advisory services to high-net-worth individuals and corporate entities.

This Session identifies the intersection between technology, innovation, and inclusion, focusing on how technological advancements such as Artificial Intelligence can create new opportunities for women and bridge gender gaps in the legal profession.
