In a heartbreaking development in the Ile-Olodo Ita Merin-Alore area of Ilorin West Local Government Area, the lifeless body of an 18-year-old girl, identified as Waliyah, was recovered from a domestic well by the Kwara State Fire Service.
According to reports from the Daily Trust, the young girl had purportedly leapt into the well unexpectedly following what seemed to be a casual conversation with her neighbours in the compound, leaving the community in a state of shock and disbelief.
Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, the Kwara State Fire Service spokesperson, confirmed the tragic incident in a statement released on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Adekunle’s statement indicated that the fire service responded promptly to an emergency rescue operation in the Ile-olodo Ita Merin-Alore area of Ilorin.
