Alleged Victim of Missing Manhood Confesses After Arrest – No Manhood Disappearance
Surprisingly, a teenager named Sunday Ebube Linus was apprehended on Tuesday for falsely claiming his manhood had vanished. The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest and cautioned against using mob justice as a punishment for wrongdoers.
In a statement posted on his social media account, DSP Bright Edafe explained that on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at DBS Road in Asaba, 18-year-old Ebube Linus created a false alarm, alleging that an elderly woman inside a tricycle had touched him, causing his manhood (penis) to disappear. This unfounded claim quickly attracted a mob of over 100 individuals who subjected the woman to severe physical abuse, stripping her naked and nearly causing her grievous harm.
The authorities swiftly responded to the incident. The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the GRA Division in Asaba led a team of officers to the scene, rescuing the woman and detaining the suspect. However, it was soon discovered that there was no issue with Linus’s manhood; it was entirely intact.
DSP Bright Edafe expressed deep concern over the situation, as the teenager had fabricated a false accusation against an innocent woman who was a mother, daughter, and wife. Additionally, he noted that videos of the woman’s assault, including her being stripped naked, had circulated widely on the internet.
The police spokesperson raised important questions, asking why such incidents led to vigilante justice and mob violence. This incident is a stark reminder of the dangers of taking the law into one’s own hands, especially in cases where facts are not adequately established.
