NBAWF CONFERENCE FOURTH PLENARY SESSION

We are delighted to announce the speakers for our upcoming 4th Annual General Conference and International Women’s Day Event happening live in Lagos on Thursday, 21st & Friday, 22nd March 2024, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria, with the theme ‘Beyond the Balance Sheet: Redefining Success for Women in Law’.

In our fourth plenary session themed, ‘Elegance, Etiquette, and Panache: Mastering Personal Branding for Female Lawyers, we have Atinuke Odofin, Funmi Roberts, Isaiah Bozimo SAN, Emily Wale-Koya, and Dr. Janet Adetu as the speakers.

Atinuke Odofin: She is a partner at Africa Law Practice NG & Co., a leading commercial law firm in Nigeria. She is a commercial transactions lawyer with extensive knowledge and experience in corporate law. She advises and provides legal support to clients in multifaceted transactions involving the power sector, solid minerals, aviation, finance, and corporate restructuring. She has also acted as counsel in several domestic and international arbitration proceedings.

Funmi Roberts: She is the principal partner of Funmi Roberts & Co. She is an astute leader with an outstanding track record in mobilising for corporate and public sector reform and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. She is a Chartered Arbitrator (CIArb.) and a fellow of the Nigerian Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Institute of Construction Industry Arbitrators (ICIArb).

Isaiah Bozimo SAN: He is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and has built a strong reputation in commercial arbitration and dispute resolution, championing its growth in Africa. As the former Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, he ushered in forward-thinking legal reforms, including the Delta State Arbitration Law of 2022. He was instrumental in shaping Nigeria’s current Arbitration and Mediation Act.

Emily Wale-Koya is the founder and CEO of the School of Personal Branding and one of Africa’s leading personal branding strategists. She helps people in business and careers blow their trumpets and go from unknown and underpaid to wealthy and well-known brands. She guides experts in amplifying their voices and turning their wisdom into impact-driven coaching and consulting for online businesses. She is a celebrated author, keynote speaker, and coach with over seven years of experience in personal branding.

Dr. Janet Adetu, PCC, BCC, CEC, CHPC, FCCA, MCIPM: She is a career coach whose passion is helping growing professionals and leaders strategically position themselves for promotion, presence, recognition, and influence on the job and within the organization. She is renowned for her vast experience in executive coaching, corporate protocol, and driving high performance.

Her desire as an executive & leadership presence coach is to help professionals take authentic action steps towards building and growing their successful personal net worth. She is the founder and chief executive officer of JSK Consulting Group and the principal partner of ViserX Executive Coaching.

Adefowoke Ayo-Ponle, LLM, ACIS, Lead Counsel, and Firstrose Solicitors will moderate the panel. She is a legal practitioner with about 19 years of post-call experience, an author, a family mediator, a certified arbitrator, and a compliance expert. She is also a human rights and gender advocate, a family mediator, and passionate about women and children.

She is a Lecturer at Caleb University, specialising in family law & intellectual property. She is currently the lead of the NBA Women Forum Lagos State Chapter and the secretary of FIDA Lagos.

This session aims to help attendees build and elevate their professional presence and personal brand as the panel delves into refined dressing, polished manners, and the art of confidently carrying oneself.

The Session will feature a raffle draw with clothing items and accessories to be won.
