FALAS Proposes Mentorship Partnership with NBA-YLF, Seeks to Unify African Law Students

The Federation of African Law Students (FALAS) emerges as the leading voice and unifying force for law students across the African continent, championing an international, non-partisan, and forward-thinking approach towards building a united Africa and a common future.

With a steadfast vision to create a platform where African law students can interact and collaborate towards establishing a formidable continental legal community, FALAS stands as the apex and unifying umbrella body for undergraduate law students across Africa.

Driven by its commitment to promoting and protecting the interests of justice, fairness, equity, and equality throughout Africa, FALAS recently extended a courtesy visit to the chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Young Lawyers Forum (NBA-YLF) Governing Council, Abdurrauf Tijjani Aboki. During the visit, FALAS proposed a mentorship partnership with NBA-YLF to foster collaboration and unity among African law students.

The proposed partnership envisions a cross-border mentorship program where law students from various African countries can intern and learn from each other’s experiences, facilitating a robust exchange of knowledge and skills.

Additionally, FALAS extended an invitation to NBA-YLF to participate in their upcoming conference in Lagos, Nigeria, further solidifying their commitment to nurturing the next generation of legal professionals and fostering cooperation among African legal communities.

Endorsed by esteemed bodies such as the African Bar Association (AfBA) and other regional/national law bodies across the continent, FALAS continues to garner goodwill and support as it endeavours to advance its founding credo.

Through initiatives like the proposed mentorship partnership with NBA-YLF, FALAS seeks to enhance African law students’ professional development and unity, ultimately contributing to advancing the legal profession across the continent.
