The All Progressives Congress (APC) is poised to secure an indisputable victory in the upcoming governorship election in Kogi, as affirmed by Governor Yahaya Bello. The governor’s assertion conveyed through his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed, highlighted the solid prospects for the ruling party in the forthcoming political contest.
Scheduled for November 11, the off-season election in Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa State has generated significant anticipation. At a recent APC ward sensitization meeting in Ochadamu, Ofu local government area, Muhammed emphasized the considerable accomplishments of Governor Bello’s administration. These achievements, he pointed out, have solidified the party’s standing and positioned them for another resounding victory.
Governor Bello’s Optimistic Proclamation and APC’s Firm Electoral Stand
“Our extensive presence in the 3,508 polling units and 239 wards across the state provides a strong foundation for our success,” Muhammed stated. He underscored the notable endorsement received from former opposition members who have now joined the APC, contributing to the party’s formidable electoral force.
The meeting witnessed a show of unity, with notable figures, including Odu Akowe, a former leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), aligning with the APC’s cause. Akowe emphasized the importance of the party’s candidate, Ododo Ahmed Usman, and his running mate, Joel Oyibo Salifu, urging unified support for their candidacy. The local support for Joel, hailing from the Ofu local government area, was noted as a vital factor in substantially securing the party’s victory.
