Over 500,000 Instagram Users Unfollow Naira Marley Amid Controversy

Nigerian singer and rapper Azeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, has seen more than 500,000 Instagram users unfollow him amid controversies related to singer Mohbad’s death.

Mohbad, a 27-year-old artist formerly signed to Marlian Records, passed away last week and was laid to rest shortly after. However, the circumstances surrounding his death have sparked disputes, with some entertainers implicating his former record label boss, Naira Marley, and associate Sam Larry in his demise.

Following Mohbad’s death, numerous videos surfaced online alleging that Naira Marley and Sam Larry were involved in severe mistreatment and harassment of the late artist during his lifetime. This controversy has led to significant setbacks for Marlian Records, including banning Naira Marley’s songs on specific radio station platforms.

It has been observed that since these incidents unfolded, the leader of Marlian Records has also restricted some followers on his Instagram account as Mohbad’s fans expressed their dissatisfaction.

Before the tragic death of the late singer, Naira Marley had over 7.4 million followers on Instagram, but that number has now decreased to 6.9 million at the time of this report.
