Abuja Chef Allegedly Kidnaps Boss' Son, Extorts N3.9 Million Ransom; Police Apprehend Suspect, Rescues Victim Unhurt

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has apprehended Ulagu Philemon Chukwuma for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping of his employer’s son, Justin Nwankwo. According to reports from the Public Relations Officer for the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, Chukwuma, who worked as a domestic cook for the Nwankwo family, conspired with another individual, McDonald Arinze, to carry out the crime. Arinze, however, remains at large.

The brazen act of kidnapping perpetrated by Chukwuma, reportedly in collusion with Arinze, has not only shaken the Nwankwo family but also raised concerns about the security of households and the trustworthiness of domestic employees. Such heinous acts not only inflict emotional distress on the victims and their families but also undermine trust within societies.

The successful rescue of Justin Nwankwo by the diligent efforts of the Utako Police Divisional Headquarters is commendable. However, the incident emphasises the urgent need for enhanced security measures and vigilance, both within residential settings and across the broader society, to combat the scourge of kidnapping and ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens.
