Born on November 10, 1973, in Bonny, Rivers State, Nigeria, to the esteemed family of the late Chief and Mrs. Somiari, Sammie’s illustrious career spans over 22 years, marked by significant contributions to legal jurisprudence in Nigeria.
Educated at Port Harcourt Primary School and Government Comprehensive Secondary School, Borikiri, Port Harcourt, Sammie attained his LL.B. (Hons) from the University of Benin, subsequently being called to the Nigerian Bar in 1999. His dedication to the field is further exemplified by his profound expertise in maritime law, reinforced by numerous certifications and continuous learning endeavours.
Sammie Somiari, SAN, has left an indelible mark on the legal landscape, notably through his involvement in pivotal cases such as the renowned Ibegwura v. PDP. His commitment to the legal profession is echoed through his membership in esteemed associations, including the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the International Bar Association (IBA), and the Nigerian Maritime Law Association (NMLA).
