The sequence of Events Leading to Mohbad’s Death Revealed.

In a recent press briefing, the Lagos State Police Command shared a detailed account of the sequence of events leading to the tragic death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, widely known as Mohbad. The unfortunate incident unfolded as follows:

1. September 10, 2023: Mohbad attended a musical concert at Ikorodu Town Hall at 9:00 PM, upon the invitation of Soso Soberekon to promote De-General Bitters beverages. He arrived at the venue with his wife, Mrs Cynthia Omowumi Adebanjo, their 5-month-old baby, childhood friend Ibrahim Oluwatosin Owoduni (Prime Boy), and personal assistant Adeyemo Boluwatife (Darosa), travelling in a Prado Jeep.

2. Argument and Altercation: Following Mohbad’s performance, as he tried to leave the venue, he encountered a blocked exit due to parked vehicles and an eager crowd of fans and Area Boys. An argument ensued between Mohbad and his friend Ibrahim, which escalated into a physical fight. During this altercation, Mohbad inadvertently smashed the rear window of their Prado Jeep, injuring his forearm.

3. Refusal of Medical Attention: Upon returning home around 2:00 AM on September 11, 2023, Mohbad declined medical attention for his injured arm despite the persistent urging of his wife, staff, and friends, including the driver of the damaged Prado Jeep.

4. Worsening Condition: The injured arm swelled as hours passed, causing Mohbad intense pain. His friend Ayobami Sadiq (Spending) insisted that he seek medical help.

5. Medical Assistance Sought: Eventually, Mohbad consented to seek medical help and attempted to contact his personal nurse, Nurse Funmi. However, Nurse Funmi was unavailable at the time. Instead, Ayobami Sadiq (Spending) suggested they contact his nurse, Ms. Feyisayo Ogedengbe.

6. Medical Reaction: On September 12, 2023, at approximately 2:30 PM, Ms. Feyisayo arrived with medical supplies, including injections and medication. She administered the Tetanus Toxoid, Paracetamol, and Ceftriaxone injections. Unfortunately, after the Ceftriaxone injection, Mohbad started vomiting and experienced goosebumps all over his body, indicating an adverse reaction to the medication.

7. Medical Emergency: Realizing the severity of the situation, Ms Feyisayo rushed to procure necessary medical supplies. During her absence, Mohbad began to convulse.

8. Hospitalization and Tragic Outcome: Cynthia Omoduni Adebanjo, Aduragbemi Shedrack Aloba, Olarewaju Idris Adedoja, Ayinde Habib Idowu Damola, Aderinto Fawas Ademola, and Ms. Feyisayo promptly transported Mohbad to the hospital. Tragically, he was pronounced dead on arrival at Cura-Med Hospital, Lekki. The team subsequently moved his body to Perez Hospital, Lekki, where his death was confirmed. A death certificate was issued by Cura-Med Hospital.

9. Burial: Mohbad’s father, upon being notified, decided to move the body to Ikorodu for burial, which took place on September 13, 2023, at approximately 2:00 PM.
