Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the upcoming Kogi governorship election, has raised concerns about the deteriorating condition of Kogi State, likening it to an “evil forest” under the tenure of Governor Yahaya Bello. During an appearance on Arise News, Melaye highlighted the pervasive chaos and disunity perpetuated by the state’s ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), emphasizing the urgent need for a unifying figure.

Melaye emphasized the propagation of inequality and the rise of various ethnic agendas among Kogi residents, which has significantly polarized the state. He vowed to prioritize the unification of the state, aiming to bridge the deep-seated divides that have plagued its political landscape.

Expressing the significance of the forthcoming November 11 governorship election, Melaye stressed the importance of restoring unity in the state, asserting that the division promoted by the current administration has no place in the state’s history. Melaye’s campaign slogan, “One Kogi, One Destiny,” underscores his commitment to fostering unity and solidarity among the people of Kogi State.
