President Tinubu Calls for Reflection and Prayer During Eid-el-Maulud Celebration

In a statement issued Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extended his warm congratulations to Muslims in Nigeria and worldwide on this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebration. During this period, the President called upon Muslims to engage in introspection and offer fervent prayers for the country’s well-being.

President Tinubu stressed the importance of living by the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and encouraged adherents to consciously follow his exemplary way of life. He emphasized the valuable lessons that can be drawn from the Prophet’s life, including devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility, and selflessness.

Additionally, President Tinubu urged religious leaders to use this occasion to pray for the nation’s prosperity and to impart the teachings of Prophet Muhammad to their followers. He noted that Nigeria is currently at a crucial juncture and that while the government is actively working to ensure security and economic stability, it requires the unwavering support of its citizens in the form of patriotism, patience, and prayers.

In his closing remarks, the President called on Muslims celebrating the Maulud festival to exemplify the season’s spirit by extending their assistance to the less fortunate and vulnerable members of society.

He also urged them to include prayers for the country and its leaders at all levels as part of their observance of this significant occasion. President Tinubu expressed optimism about the future, stating that “the light is certainly bright at the end of the tunnel.”
