According to the report, the pastor allegedly murdered the young girl using a machete after vandalizing his father’s shrine within the community. The victim’s lifeless body was discovered in the pastor’s residence on Friday morning, leaving many questions unanswered about the motive behind the gruesome act.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, has not provided any official comments or statements regarding this incident.

In a separate development, there is some relief as Reverend Father Marcellinus Obioma Okide, the Parish priest of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Amofia-Agu Affa, Udi local government area of Enugu State, has been released from captivity. He had been kidnapped, along with six other travellers, while returning to his parish on Eke-Affa-Egede Road by suspected gunmen believed to be herdsmen.

Father Okide spent four harrowing days in the kidnappers’ custody before regaining his freedom on Thursday night around 8:00 p.m. This development has been confirmed by the Diocesan Communication Director, Rev Fr. Anthony Aneke.
