Elderly Man Jumps into Lagos Lagoon Amidst Hardships, Rescue Efforts Ongoing

On Tuesday, September 19, 2023, a distressing incident occurred in Lagos as an elderly gentleman, driven to desperation by severe hardships, leapt into the Lagos Lagoon. Despite the concerted efforts of concerned individuals to dissuade him from committing such a tragic act, the elderly man was determined to end his own life.

Eyewitnesses observed this elderly individual at the well-known Lagos Lagoon bridge, fervently attempting to plunge into the water. Even though heartfelt pleas were made to him in the Yoruba language, he responded with an unwavering resolve. Tragically, he succeeded in his attempt to jump into the Lagoon.
