Choir Members Abducted in Ondo State: Eight Escape, Search for Others Continues

Eight of the twenty-five choir members kidnapped from the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke Igan, Akure, have escaped their captors. This incident occurred after the choir members were abducted while en route to a religious event in the Ifon community in the Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Chief Adetunji Adeleye, the Commander of the state’s security outfit known as Amotekun, confirmed this development.

He revealed that a joint effort involving the Police Anti Kidnapping unit, Amotekun Corps, and the Nigerian Army is underway to track down the kidnappers in the Owo/Ose axis and secure the release of the remaining victims.

Additionally, Funmi Odunlami, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, verified the abduction of the victims. He disclosed that the vehicle used to transport the victims, marked with the church’s name, was abandoned in the Elegbeka area of Ifon.
In response, the anti-kidnapping squad and other tactical teams have been dispatched to the region to rescue the remaining victims and apprehend all those involved in the crime.
