NBA PRESIDENT MOURNS FORMER CHAIRMAN OF ABUJA BRANCH, SENATOR SODANGI DANSO ABUBAKAR

The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, OON, SAN, has expressed sadness over Senator Sodangi Danso Abubakar’s recent passing. Abubakar was a former chairman of the Abuja Branch of the NBA and past National Legal Adviser of the NBA.

Senator Abubakar was an illustrious and respected member of the bar. The former Chairman of the NBA Abuja Branch was also a long-serving, distinguished Federal Republic of Nigeria senator. He contributed enormously to national development during his time in the Red Chambers. He served on senate committees on Judiciary, Human Rights & Legal Matters, Interior Affairs, Foreign Affairs and the FCT.

Mr. Maikyau has described Senator Sodangi Danso Abubakar’s passing as a great loss to the legal profession and the nation. He noted that his endearing and brilliant personality would be sorely missed.

The NBA President has urged family and friends to be consoled by the late senator’s remarkable and impactful life. He has prayed that Almighty God grants those he has left behind the continuous strength to bear this irreparable loss.
