RE: REQUEST FOR COPIES OF THE ENHANCED TRADE INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP (ETIP) AGREEMENT ON LEGAL SERVICES BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENTS OF NIGERIA AND THE UNITED KINGDOM

In accordance with the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2011, we, the Legal Defence and Assistance Project, a non-governmental organization dedicated to the protection and promotion of the rule of law and good governance in Nigeria, hereby formally request copies of the Enhanced Trade Investment Partnership (ETIP) Agreement on Legal Services between the Governments of Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

Furthermore, we seek details regarding any consultations conducted by relevant stakeholders concerning the negotiations for the agreement and its terms. This includes consultations with bodies such as the Nigerian Bar Association, the General Council of the Bar, or any other relevant entity involved in safeguarding the legal trade spaces in Nigeria.

We emphasize that the information requested falls within the purview of the Freedom of Information Act and is not exempted from disclosure. Therefore, we kindly request that the requested documents and details be provided to us within seven days of the receipt of this letter, as stipulated by the Act.
