Nigerian Bar Association: Inauguration of the 2023/2024 Electoral Committee Members.

The inauguration of the 2023–2024 Nigerian Bar Association electoral committee (ECNBA), led by the President, Yakubu Chinook Maikyau, SAN, OON, occurred at the NBA Secretariat.

I take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to each of you for responding to my calls despite the short notice. This is indeed an honour to the legal profession, and I am grateful for the privilege granted to me by the association to serve as the President of the Nigerian Bar Association.

Your willingness to abandon busy schedules and represent the association is a continuation of the collective commitment demonstrated by each member of the legal community. On behalf of the Nigerian Bar Association, I extend my heartfelt appreciation for the recognition you have bestowed upon us, showcasing your continuous dedication to serving the NBA.

I also extend my gratitude to the outgoing chairman, secretary, and members of the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) under the able leadership of Chief Ayodele Richard Akintunde. Your commendable efforts in conducting the election that brought the national executive into office have been noted.

The election process coincided with the election in Osun State, and your innovative approach allowed lawyers to cast their votes seamlessly from anywhere with internet access.

The positive response from governors and the Independent National Electoral Commission chairman during that period underscores the impact of your service. I appreciate your commitment, selfless service, and the generational impact your work is making on our electoral processes.

As we move forward, I pledge to build on your foundation. Your blocks have become integral to the structure, and we will continue to build upon them. I assure you that we will not disappoint and will hold onto the commitment to advancing the good work you have started.

In conclusion, I express pride in your accomplishments and thank you for your dedicated service to the Nigerian Bar Association. While words may fall short of expressing our gratitude, please accept this message as a heartfelt appreciation for your invaluable contributions.
