Nigerian Military Reaffirms Commitment to Democracy and President Tinubu
The Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa, has reassured the public that the Nigerian military remains steadfast in its commitment to the democratic process, firmly dispelling any notion of a coup against the democratically elected government of President Bola Tinubu.
During a visit to the 6th Division of the Nigerian Army in Port Harcourt, General Musa emphasized the military’s dedication to democracy and its loyalty to President Tinubu as the Commander-in-Chief.

During his visit, General Musa inaugurated various projects and addressed the media, highlighting the military’s stance on recent coups in neighbouring countries.

He emphasized the military’s unwavering support for democracy and its determination to safeguard the integrity of Nigeria. General Musa further assured the public that the Nigerian Armed Forces are fully committed to upholding democracy and protecting the nation.
Regarding the upcoming off-season governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi States, General Musa reiterated the military’s readiness to ensure adequate security. He issued a stern warning to potential troublemakers, emphasizing that any form of violence or intimidation during the elections would not be tolerated.
General Musa emphasized the military’s role in guaranteeing credible, accessible, and fair elections, urging all stakeholders to adhere to peaceful and lawful electoral practices.
