President Tinubu Conveys Condolences to Canadian High Commission and Victims of FCT Fire Incident

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Canadian government, the diplomatic community, and all those affected by the recent fire incident at the Canadian High Commission in Abuja. He assured the Canadian authorities that the Nigerian government stands ready to provide any necessary assistance to the High Commission’s local and diplomatic staff, who were particularly impacted by the tragedy.

The fire broke out at the High Commission’s building at 13010G, Palm Close, Diplomatic Drive, Central Business District in Abuja, just minutes before noon.

According to sources, the fire originated in the generator house during maintenance work on the power-generating plants. The Federal Fire Service (FFS) promptly responded and successfully controlled the fire. Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the incident.
