Thousands of Federal Civil Servants Face Salary Delays Due to IPPIS Deletions

Over 17,000 federal civil servants are at risk of not receiving their salaries due to the alleged deletion of their records from the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS). This situation arises from a verification exercise conducted by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) over the past five years.

However, some affected workers argue that they participated in the verification exercise but were still removed from IPPIS. Also Read; https://legalattorneyblog.com/2023/05/10/office-of-the-accountant-general-launches-forensic-audit-into-ippis-breach/

In response to the concerns raised by this development, Tommy Etim Okon, the National President of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), has called on the affected individuals to remain calm, assuring them that measures have been initiated to address the situation.

Okon acknowledged discrepancies in the IPPIS verification process, where names of Personal Assistants (PAs), Special Advisers (SAs), and even some Ministers from successive governments were found in the system. He also criticized those civil servants who failed to comply with the verification exercise.

The Office of the Head of Service has granted a one-week grace period for affected civil servants with legitimate claims to rectify their records. Those erroneously omitted from the IPPIS portal are urged to submit their documents to the designated email for further action.

Okon emphasized the importance of this information to ASCSN members, urging affected individuals to take advantage of the opportunity provided and also requested an extension of the timeframe by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation to accommodate those with genuine complaints.
