FIDA: INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY

This year’s International Women’s Day theme is: “Embrace Equity”.

In commemoration of the 2023 International Women’s Day, the association of female lawyers, FIDA Nigeria, has charged women working in the digital space to incorporate fellow women and the girl-child by creating the needed platforms and opportunities towards closing the gender gap.

International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on the 8th of March to create awareness of the need for gender inclusivity and mainstreaming.

A statement by the Chairperson of FIDA Nigeria, Bauchi Branch, Fatima Abubakar, says the organization also celebrates Nigerian female digital tech champions who have accomplished giant strides in the sector despite numerous challenges.

The statement acknowledges the role being played by women in the digital space sector, describing them as great inspirations and worthy mentors to the girl child.

It says FIDA Nigeria encourages gender-inclusive innovations and calls for collective efforts of government at all levels, Civil Society and Faith-Based Organisations, as well as International institutions, to address the plight of Nigerian girls through improved digital skills.
