Kebbi Police Apprehended 17 Million Naira Counterfeit Currency and Suspects
The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested three suspects Faruku Zubairu, Ibrahim Musa and
Salisu Mohammed of Gungun Tawaye and Chupamini villages in Ngaski Local Government of the
state in possession of 17 Million Naira Counterfeit currency.

Kebbi Police Apprehended 17 Million Naira Counterfeit Currency and Suspects
Briefing newsmen, the State Police Commissioner, Ahmed Magaji Kontagora, said that Police
personnel attached to Warrah Police Station with the help of the National Union of Road Transport
Workers (NURTW) at Warrah Motor Park arrested 3 persons in possession of currency notes worth
the sum of Seventeen Million Naira (N17,000,000), reasonably suspected to be counterfeit.

The Commissioner of Police stated that after Investigation had been completed, the suspects
would soon be charged to court for prosecution.
CP Magaji Kontagora also stated that the Police had arrested one Yunusa Adam, aged 25 years of
Bumawa area of Koko town that used to give one Fatima Abdurrahman aged 5 years, the sum of
N 20, N30 and N 50 to lure her into his mother’s room and had sexual intercourse with her and
defiled her.

Similar to CP Kontagora, said one Yusuf Omotayo Abdulfatai of the old mechanic village, Birnin Kebbi,
was apprehended and handed over to the Police at SCID, Birnin Kebbi, by the staff of the Ministry of
Health, Kebbi State, in possession of certificates reasonably suspected to be forged documents and
was parading himself to be a Medical Doctor working with a private Hospital named DDG Medical
Centre, Birnin Kebbi.

Adding that, In the course of the Investigation, many suspected items, including forged and fraudulent
documents were recovered, and the suspect has confessed to the commission of the crime and would
be arraigned in court for prosecution according to the law.
