CDS meets with all security Chiefs and IGP over the smooth conduct of the general election.

The Chief of Defence Staff, the three Service Chiefs, IGP, DSS and INEC representatives have met in Abuja and concluded plans to ensure a peaceful and credible General election across the country starting this Saturday.

After a closed-door meeting of over two hours at the Defence Headquarters, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, while briefing the media, assured citizens of safety during and after the elections, even in the troubled zones across the country.

General Irabor used the forum to warn all thugs and evil perpetrators to resist any acts of violence that would disrupt the elections or face the consequences.

Amid widespread apprehension and crises occasioned by the new Naira redesign policy and insinuations

that it was a ploy to prevent vote-buying, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday

declared that it had concluded plans to conduct the general elections beginning next Saturday.

 

The Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies have promised to play their roles in

ensuring that the 2023 General election will be peaceful and credible. Similarly, the Nigeria Police,

military high commands, other security agencies and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) all

reassured Nigerians of their readiness to supervise and ensure a peaceful 2023 elections.
