Yahaya Bello, Promises to sustain the legacies of his administration: Kogi.

Alhaji Yahaya has promised to sustain the legacies of his administration for a better Kogi State. Bello, who was present at the workshop, stated this at the NUJ Symposium organised by the Kogi State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists in Lokoja. He disclosed that his administration remained resolute and committed to delivering the dividends of Democracy to the people of the State.
He explained that upon resumption of the administration, he focused on accelerating the development in five cardinal areas: Education, Health-care, Job Creation, Infrastructure and Security.

The Governor explained that the various projects embarked upon by his administration
such as the Reference Hospital in Okene, The newly established Confluence University of
Science and Technology, Osara, the reconstruction of various Educational Institutions in the
State, Road rehabilitation, the Ganaja Junction Overhead Bridge, the reforms in the Health
sector and several other people-oriented projects were landmark achievements of his
administration.

He said the State Government would partner with the Media to ensure that citizens of Kogi
State enjoy quality leadership at various levels of governance. Governor Yahaya appealed to Nigerians
to participate in the coming General Elections and eschew violence in whatever guise. Governor
Bello urged the media to avoid sensational reportage that could create tension in the country before,
during and after the Elections.
Gov Bello Promises More Development In Kogi
In a Goodwill message, the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley
Fanwo said the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello had made tremendous achievements
in the last seven years through the various projects initiated by the State Government.
Also, the National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Chris Isiguzo, commended the
administration of Governor Yahaya Bello for the laudable projects geared towards changing the
the face of Kogi State.
Leverage On My Achievements, Yahaya Bello, Charges Kogities
The NUJ President said the seven years administration of Governor Yahaya Bello had witnessed
rapid development in the State, especially the newly established Reference Hospital in Okene
which he maintained was a landmark achievement worthy of note.
In an address of Welcome, the Kogi State Chairman of the NUJ, Comrade Adeiza Momoh Jimoh
who described Journalists as Watch Dogs of Society, said the Symposium theme,
‘A peep into Yahaya Bello’s Seven years as Governor of Kogi State and the implications for Future
Administrations’, were by the mandate of the NUJ, to hold the Government accountable
to the people. Comrade Adeiza Momoh Jimoh noted that the enviable track records of Governor
Yahaya Bello has brought Kogi State to the limelight.

Guest Speaker at the event and a Lecturer at the National Open University of Nigeria, Abuja, Mr
Emmanuel Ojonugwa Okoliko lauded the various projects embarked upon by the administration
of Governor Yahaya Bello and stressed that posterity would engrave his name in Gold in the history
of Kogi State.
