INEC Gives Estimated Number of Eligible Voters: Elections
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says 1,961,028 million voters are anticipated
to vote in the presidential and national assembly elections set to hold on Saturday, February 25th
in kebbi State.

Addressing journalists on the preparedness of the commission, the Residents Electoral Commissioner,
Ahmed Bello Mahmud said elections would hold in 3,738 polling units of the State.
He stated that the total number of registered voters in the State is 2,032,041m, while the total
number of uncollected PVCs is 71,013.

Bello said arrangements have been put in place in all senatorial districts and federal constituencies
for the collation of the results of the election in the State. He also noted that the BVAS used for accreditation
and authentication is a Bimodal 10,000 MAH that can last for over 10 hours and has a power bank.
“We have screened and listed local and foreign observers to participate in the elections. Our situation room for monitoring the elections is already in place”.
According to him, the commission has virtually completed the delivery of non-sensitive materials to 21 local government areas of the State. In contrast, sensitive materials have arrived at CBN for distribution on the eve of the elections.

The REC added that arrangements for transporting its personnel and materials are in top gear while screening, recruitment of Ad-hoc, collarĂn, returning, SOS, POs and APOs are also in progress for the smooth conduct of the elections.
