It is unacceptable that Elias Ugwu, who was engaged in an act of bravery and compassion by paying ransom for his kidnapped relative, met such a fate. The police’s reckless actions in shooting at his vehicle without proper verification or due process demonstrate a blatant disregard for human life and the rule of law.

Elias Ugwu was not a criminal but a dedicated member of our legal profession, committed to justice and compassion. His death highlights the need for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his killing and for accountability to be upheld.
