The Governor’s spokesperson, Isa Gusau, conveyed the profound sorrow of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, highlighting that Garba was initially the Governor’s Special Adviser on Special Projects before he was appointed Commissioner. Governor Zulum mourns alongside the late Commissioner’s family, friends, associates, and state executive council members.
The official statement from Gusau reads, “Late Engr Ibrahim Idriss Garba was the Governor’s Special Adviser on Special Projects before he was elevated and appointed Commissioner of RRR at the commencement of Zulum’s ongoing second term. May Allah forgive the Commissioner’s shortcomings and admit him into Aljanna.”

In response to the sudden and tragic demise, an urgent investigation has been launched by the police, initiated at the request of Governor Zulum and the state commissioner of Police, Mohammed Yusuf. Commissioner Yusuf visited the deceased’s residence to extend his condolences to the family.
Reports indicate that Garba’s passing comes after he was involved in a recent car accident while travelling in the Governor’s convoy to the state’s southern region for an official tour. Further details on the circumstances surrounding his death are currently under investigation.
