Numerous Bandits Killed in NAF Airstrikes on Zamfara Hideout

In a significant operation, the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) reportedly carried out airstrikes targeting bandits in the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. Intelligence revealed that a large group of bandits was en route from a forest in Zamfara to Kebbi State to launch attacks on local villages.

Upon realizing the presence of troops along their planned route, the bandits retreated towards the Dansadau area in Maru Local Government. The Nigerian Air Force swiftly engaged the retreating bandits, resulting in the elimination of approximately a hundred of them and the destruction of their motorcycles. Several others sustained injuries during the operation.
Significant Bandit Casualties in Zamfara State from NAF Airstrikes
The bodies of the deceased terrorists were interred in the Sangeko forest in Niger State and Babban Doka in Zamfara’s Maru Local Government Area. The exact count of casualties is yet to be confirmed, as per Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, the spokesperson for Operation Hadarin Daji.
While the Director of Public Relations and Information (DOPRI) for the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, confirmed the airstrikes in Zamfara State, he could not provide precise casualty numbers at the time of this report. The operation is considered a significant success against the bandits plaguing the region.
