Tinubu Vows to End Poverty and Insecurity,

In a resolute declaration, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed his unwavering commitment to eliminating poverty, insecurity, and underdevelopment in Rivers State and Nigeria. During a meeting with a prominent 62-member delegation from Rivers State, representing diverse political affiliations, President Tinubu shared his vision for a prosperous nation brimming with untapped human potential and abundant natural resources.

In his address, the President welcomed the delegation, acknowledging the significant role that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, had played in the state. He praised Nyesom Wike’s contributions and urged the new Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, to carry forward the legacy left by his predecessor. President Tinubu assured the delegation that Rivers State would have direct access to him as one of his most trusted allies. He emphasized the need to harness the state’s rich resources and highlighted his determination to create wealth for all Nigerians. He expressed his steadfast commitment to working tirelessly for the betterment of the nation, promising not to offer excuses but to deliver tangible results.

The President acknowledged the cries of prominent Rivers leaders, particularly concerning infrastructure development, including the Eleme Junction-One axis of the East-West Road. He pledged to address these concerns and rely on the guidance of Minister Nyesom Wike.

President Tinubu urged the younger generation to exercise patience and trust in the government’s processes. He declared himself the Captain and Chief Salesman of the country, determined to reverse the current trajectory and achieve remarkable progress. He concluded by expressing his inspiration and pride in the nation he now leads.

In response, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara expressed gratitude to the President and the delegation’s belief in fairness, equity, and justice. He highlighted the positive impact of the federal government on Rivers State, emphasizing that it marked a significant departure from past experiences since the inception of democracy in 1999. He also praised the President for attracting a substantial $14 billion investment approval for projects nationwide, including the expansion of Indorama Petrochemicals in Eleme, Rivers State, demonstrating the state’s commitment to supporting these endeavours through land allocation.
