Osita Okechukwu, a founding member of the All Progressives Congress and the director general of Voice of Nigeria, has pleaded with President Bola Tinubu not to disqualify Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, a former governor of Kaduna State, from a cabinet appointment.

El-Rufai had been proposed by Tinubu for a cabinet position, but the Senate declined to confirm it, ostensibly due to a security report.

On Sunday, Okechukwu said El-Rufai would be a tremendous asset to Tinubu’s administration, particularly in the power sector.
