Zamfara Govt recovers 40 looted vehicles.

The Zamfara State Government has cleared the air on the operation of the Nigeria Police Force that led to the recovery of vehicles looted by the former Governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle.

This was contained in a statement issued in Gusau by the Senior Special Assistant Media and Publicity of the Zamfara Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris.

According to the statement, the Nigeria Police stormed the residence of the former Governor, where over 40 vehicles were impounded, including three bulletproof cars and Eight SUVs,
Additionally, the Police acted on a court order and obtained a search warrant for the operation.

It could be recalled that the Zamfara State Government has communicated officially to former Governor Bello Matawalle and his Deputy to return all the missing vehicles within five working days.

The state government also reaffirmed its commitment to recover all that belongs to the state’s people, as their mission is to rescue and rebuild Zamfara.

In a related development, the Zamfara state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC has condemned in totality the invasion and vandalization of the Gusau and Maradun private residences of the immediate past Governor of the state, Bello Mohammed Matawalle by the Police and personnel of the DSS.

The condemnation was contained in a press release issued in Gusau, the capital, by the Publicity Secretary of the party, Malam Yusuf Idris.

He said the inversion is unlawful and is a gross violation of the sacred provisions of sections 34, 35, 37, 41, 42 and 43 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

According to him, If the government thinks it has any case against the former Governor, it should charge him to court instead of resorting to such barbaric and uncivilized means.

They call on the Nigerian Police Force and Department of State Service (DSS) to take a decisive stand against this misadventure by Zamfara state Government. The perpetrators must be identified and made to face the dire consequences of their actions.
