Yoruba Man Who Tweeted ‘Let’s Kill All The Igbos’ Arrested.

A 28-year-old man identified as Kehinde Adesogba Adekusibe has been arrested by the Osun State Police Command for tweeting ‘Let’s kill all the Igbos’ on the 18th of May, 2023.

Mr Kehinde took to his social media to call for the killing of the Igbos, a post he deleted after the tweet went viral and was reported to the Nigeria Police.

Sharing the news on social media, the Spokesperson to the Nigeria Police, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, revealed that a detective from the Cybercrime section at SCID Osogbo swung into action after receiving the report.

The statement reads, “OSUN POLICE ARRESTS SOCIAL MEDIA USER WHO TWEETED ‘LET’S KILL ALL THE IGBOS.’
Today 18th June 2023, the Osun Police Command arrested one Kehinde Adesogba Adekusibe’ m’, 28 years old, who violated the social media policy on hate speech.

It could be recalled that, on 18th May 2023, the suspect, Kehinde Adekusibe, on his tweeter handle, tweeted, “Let’s kill all the Igbos. Let’s flush them out of Yoruba lands. I hate these people with a passion. They are violent people. They are the worst. They hate us.

Let’s hate them without holding back.” Immediately, the Police Command received the report, a Police detective from the Cybercrime section at SCID Osogbo swung into action, and through intelligence-led investigation, the suspect was arrested at Ilesa, where he hibernated.

The suspect has confessed to the crime and will be charged to the court after completing the investigation.’

DSP Adejobi assured that criminals have no hiding place in the country as the force will ensure they face the consequences of their actions.

‘We have done what is needed on this matter. It can only take some time; every offence committed leaves a trace, and culprits will surely face the music.
Thanks to the Osun State Police Command’s painstaking efforts on this singular case.
