Thirteen members of Vigilante have been killed, and another thirty persons abducted in a renewed attack by bandits in Kusharki village of Kagara local government council of Niger state.

The incident occurred Wednesday night when many bandits on motorcycles stormed the area carrying dangerous weapons and shooting sporadically in the air to scare the villagers.

One Vigilante member in the area who pleaded anonymity told Radio Nigeria that they had engaged each other in a peaceful battle for hours, trying to secure their environment but were overpowered by the bandits.

Bandits Kill And Abduct Many In Niger State.

When contacted on the telephone, Chairman Kagara local government council Alh Usman Ayuba Katako, who was devastated by the attack, could not, however, give the exact number of casualties that were abducted, saying that he was at the hospital trying to do the needful.

Last week, Niger State Governor Alh Umar Mohammed Bago met with security agencies to address insurgency cases in parts of the state.

Also, in his speech during the inauguration of some principal officers at the Government House Minna, the Governor said he is doing everything possible to ensure that insecurity in Niger state became a thing of the past.
