Scavengers Trapped Under a Building.

It occurred in the Demolished Daula Hotel in Kano.

Many scavengers were reportedly trapped under the rubble of demolished Daula hotel along Hadejia road, Nasarawa GRA Kano.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that the incident happened when the scavengers were scouting for irons from the rubbles of the demolished hotel building.

Speaking to Radio Nigeria, the public relations officer of Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, confirmed the incident, saying that his team had rescued three persons alive.

“Our team rescued three alive; one had a fracture on his leg, but his relatives have gone with him. Two left on their own after they were rescued.”

Scavengers Trapped Under a Building.

When filling this report, two persons were said to be trapped in the demolished building.

Meanwhile, men of the fire service, NEMA, police, Kano State Urban Planning and Development Agency, and KNUPDA, among others, were seen trying to rescue those trapped in the building.

Recall that the building was one of several other buildings demolished last week, where scavengers were seen on several occasions, picking iron rods and other items from the rubble.
