Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has sympathised with residents of Ilorin and some communities affected by rainstorms and flooding on Thursday night.
A statement by Governor AbdulRazq’s spokesman, Rafiu Ajakaye, described the incidents as unfortunate.
The Governor expressed sadness over the havoc the rainstorm wreaked on public and private properties, especially in the Ilorin metropolis, Oke Ero, and other areas.
He commends the ongoing efforts by relevant government agencies to evacuate many fallen signposts and clear the highways for free traffic movement.
AbdulRazq said the state government will collaborate with the Federal Government to continually tackle the flooding challenges.
He appealed to members of the public to avoid dumping refuse in drainages and other unauthorised places.
