Mr President voted at the Daura metropolis’s Sarkin Yara ‘A’ polling unit.
The Presidential Media Adviser, Malam Garba Shehu and some of his aides accompanied him to the polling unit.
Shortly after casting his vote, the President said his party would emerge victorious in the elections.
He noted that his administration has taken measures to curtail vote-buying, which has been a bottleneck to free and fair elections in the past.
The President advised Nigerians to reject food and cash inducements by politicians. However, he said even if they collect such gifts, they should still vote for the candidates of their choice.
The President noted the significant improvement in the gubernatorial and state assembly elections compared with the previous election and commended INEC for the upgrades.
He also called on prospective voters nationwide to vote for credible persons in the governorship and state assembly elections.
