Labour Party calls for review of Enugu State Gov election

The Leadership of the Labour Party LP in Nasarawa State has thrown its weight behind the decision of the Governorship candidate of the party to step down from the race to support the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Dr David Ombugadu ahead of this Saturday’s election.

At a meeting between the two parties in lafia, chairman of Labour Party Mr Alexander Emmanuel said the decision to form alliance with the PDP for the governorship race was to salvage the state from the shackles of underdevelopment.

Labour Party LP governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, Mr Joseph Ewuga stated that his decision was Bourne out of the belief that the merger would lead to the ouster of the ruling party in the state stressing that the PDP candidate has a better chance to win the election.

He called on supporters of both parties to shun violence and avoid anything that could lead to break Down of Law and order.

In a remark,chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the state, Francis Orogu described the action of the Governorship candidate of Labour party as a patriotic sacrifice.
