Security agencies guaranteeing Nigerians of peaceful General Elections

Amid widespread apprehension and crises occasioned by the new Naira redesign policy and insinuations

that it was a ploy to prevent vote-buying, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday

declared that it had concluded plans to conduct the general elections beginning next Saturday.


The CBN monetary policy won’t harm the 2023 General Elections.


The Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies have promised to play their roles in

ensuring that the 2023 General election will be peaceful and credible. Similarly, the Nigeria Police,

military high commands, other security agencies and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) all

reassured Nigerians of their readiness to supervise and ensure a peaceful 2023 elections.


We are Ready for Elections, Declare INEC and the Military

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, stated this in a message in Abuja during the 5 kilometres

walk of the International Military Sports Council, CISM, Day Run for the year 2023 at the Guards Brigade

Sports Complex in Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment, Abuja.

The Chief of Defence Staff said that the sports are to promote friendship among security agencies globally.

According to him, Physical fitness and a high level of morale are requisite for combating security challenges

facing the country.


We are ready for elections, INEC security agents declare

Represented by the Chief of Defence Policy and Plans, Air Vice Marshal Jackson Yusuf, the Chief of

Defence Staff noted that this sport was founded in 1948 after the war to promote global peace and

unity after destruction and leverage that was witnessed after the war.

Personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other sister agencies participated in the sporting event

which had in attendance the Chief of Defence Staff Representative, all the Service Chiefs and their

representatives and Directors, amongst others.
