RESPECT VOTER’S CHOICE OF CANDIDACY: BUHARI
President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday urged candidates contesting elections at all levels to respect voters’ choice and accept the election result as declared by the INEC.
President Muhammad Buhari has urged the Presidential and National Assembly Candidates contesting
in Saturday’s polls to respect the Voters’ choice and accept the result of the elections as announced
by INEC. President Buhari stated this in Abuja during the second signing of the Peace Accord by the
Candidates of the eighteen registered political parties and their Chairmen.
He advised any aggrieved Candidate to approach the court for redress. He assured INEC, the Security
Agencies and all relevant government agencies were saddled with the responsibility of conducting the
election of his administration’s continuous support. President Buhari urged INEC Security Agencies to be
firm, courageous, and abide by the laws and constitutional provisions in conducting elections.
Accept polls outcome, Buhari tells presidential candidates
INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu said the Commission was ready for Saturday’s polls.
Professor Yakubu said that sensitive materials had been moved to the various Local Government
Areas Nationwide and by Friday, 24th Feb, the registration area Centres would be activated for
easy deployment on Saturday morning.
Respect the choice of voters, Buhari tells presidential candidates
The Chairman National Peace Accord Committee and former Head of State rtd.General Abdulsalami
Abubakar said this second Peace Accord signing was aimed at urging the Presidential Candidates,
their Party Chairmen and their supporters to accept the outcome of the elections as long as it was
judged to be free, fair and credible.
In a goodwill message, the Commonwealth Secretary General, Baroness Patricia Scotland, said the
forthcoming elections were necessary because of the country’s position in Africa.
2023 Elections: Buhari Urges Candidates To Accept Result Outcome
Former Head of State, Retired General Yakubu Gowon, said that Peace was a critical factor that brings
political, Social and Economic progress in every democracy.
The IPAC Chairman Alhaji Yagbagi Sani, represented by the National Deputy Chairman of the Party,
Chief Maxwell Ngbudem warned political parties and their leaders to avoid acts capable of causing
disunity in the country.
