Southern Kaduna Gets Free Medical Outreach.

The Charismatic Renewal Ministries, CRM Missions Aid International, is embarking on a week-long free medical outreach in the southern part of Kaduna State as part of its global and local initiative toward giving back to the society for sustainable growth and Development.

The week-long event in Zonkwa, Kafanchan and Gidan Waya is in partnership with other missionary groups such as Raymond Akor Memorial Foundation, RAMF, Odumehaje Christian Medical Mission, OCMM and Helping Team International, HTI.

Declaring the outreach open at the Throne Room Trust Ministries, Kafanchan, the Executive Director, Missions Aid International, Dr Emmanuel Nwachukwu, said the program with the theme “Great Kaduna Visitation” is part of the ministry’s mission to minister to the souls and peculiar health needs of the people to enhance their wellbeing for socio-economic Development. According to Dr Nwachukwu, the event is also Targeted at providing free medical services, such as surgeries and drug administration, alongside vocational empowerment programs. Evangelical Project is geared toward uplifting the spiritual and social life of the people so they to be self-reliant.

He regretted that the region had witnessed a series of hardships in the recent past due to the challenges of insecurity; hence the initiative to cushion the effect by paying attention to the vulnerable and the needy among them, which he pointed out was in line with the gospel of Christ.

“We are here to let the world know that Jesus is lord, those who are on the ground in Kamancha, Zonkwa, Gidan way, and also through the media to minister to people who have no help, there are IDPs, orphans, widows amongst others to let them know the love of God,

“We are going to be doing free Medicare, people are going to be tested by our medical Doctors, we have about ten of them on the ground who are going to be seeing people and giving them treatment free of charge, with free eyeglasses, and drugs”,

“We are also going to be doing vocational training in which we are targeting young adults, especially the youth who have nothing to do; we are going to skilled them to have the opportunity to start businesses for themselves”,

Dr Nwachukwu pointed out that the outreach team comprising of medical and none medical personnel were deployed to schools to engage and teach students about career choice development and to also unveil to them some of the terrible traps being passed through education, pointing out that, if left unchecked was capable of jeopardizing their future.

On his part, the state Overseer of Charismatic Renewal Ministries in Kaduna, pastor Joel Madaki said the outreach was in pursuance of the mandate of the church, which is to go out into the world and emancipate sinners.

As it was during the time of Jesus Christ, pst. Madaki stressed the need for those in captivity to be set free by reaching out to their spirit, souls, and the body to be liberated and fend for themselves, saying that would promote their social, economic and religious growth.

He explained that “anyone who has given his life to Christ is light amid darkness and at the same time salvation sent to his world, so it’s in keeping with the mandate that we are here this whole week to ensure that the captives were set free,

“That’s why we come with medical aid to ensure that the people, especially those who are physically challenged, are helped; we also went with the package of empowerment to empower the people to stand for themselves because of the times that we are in, and of course, the gospel of salvation to see the people saved and liberated because Jesus has paid the price for the salvation of the whole of humanity,

“The church exists for missions because Jesus came to die, to seek and to save the lost, and that’s a mission, so also the church exists for such to be able to continue the mission of the Lord Jesus and get the lost people saved, the call to other ministries is to be doing what Jesus actually came for, aside just playing church, it’s crucial to take the gospel to the people “, explained Mr Madaki.

Executive Director of Raymond Akor Memorial Foundation, RAMF Mrs Helen Akor pointed out that the outreach became imperative following the hardship experienced by the people in the area and called on government and relevant stakeholders, including corporate organizations and spirited individuals, to constantly engage in humanitarian work, noting that it would go along way in complementing government effort in the areas of welfare and Development. She said, “Kaduna is one of the States that has been seriously challenged with insecurity issues, and southern Kaduna, in particular, has been worst hit, so there’s a high level of unemployment as a lot of people have lost their means of livelihood, the poverty rate has increased, a lot of people have lost their homes, and are in despair, and cannot afford medical care”,

“That was what informed the decision of the foundation to partner with Mission Aid International, Helping Team International, to bring the outreach to this region. We are calling on people to do more humanitarian aid, and if you can’t go due to lack of enough resources, you can support others to do so, and the program is going to reach out to a lot of people, as many would learn a trade, many would get drugs free of charge”,

“I kept telling people that when you give one thousand or five hundred nairas for a program like this, you don’t know that you’ve given malaria treatment to one person. As little as that amount is, so little amount makes a lot when a lot of people give it, so we call on the government, individuals, and non-governmental organizations to do more humanitarian work, knowing fully that the government cannot take all the responsibilities as there are so many needs and the resources are scarce”, explained Helen Akor.

To elder Linus Idoko, who is one of the Evangelical Facilitators for the outreach, the exercise has provided a platform where some secondary schools within the targeted communities were given career guidance on how to choose their career and also on how to live a sanctified and rightful life to impact their generation positively in the future.

According to Mr Idoko, students were sensitized with the word of God, and also hinted at the negative effect of drugs abuse and addiction, including goal setting, proper study habits, as well as hygiene, and lifestyle medicine to maintain social, biological, physical and toxic-social wellbeing among others.

He said books and other study materials were given to both students and teachers for them to be guided appropriately in their educational journey; he affirmed was geared toward having properly enlightened Nigerians with the fear of God, in line with the saying “righteousness exalts a nation, and sin is a reproach”, the exercise he said is aimed at restoring southern Kaduna and Kaduna state in general from the damaged caused by yet to be identified, evil perpetrators.

The outreach team lead for surgeries and medical consultant with the 44 Army Hospital Kaduna, Dr Paul Odumu, said issues like hydroceles and ruptured appendix have been attended to at the theatre with many others booked for surgeries which would ultimately be treated before the end of the exercise.
