FCT Police Commissioner Leads Operation, Arrests Suspected Criminals

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the FCT, SP Josephine Adeh, announced on Monday that the Commissioner of Police (CP) personally led a tactical team in an operation that arrested several suspects.

The operation occurred at a marked black spot known as Gidan Dambe in the Dei-Dei-Zuba axis, where the assailants were apprehended.

During the raid, one of the suspects claimed to be a Department of State Service (DSS) officer. Upon searching for the suspect, an English pistol with fifteen rounds of 9mm ammunition was recovered.

Additionally, the team seized motorcycles, wraps of marijuana, illicit substances, and other items suspected to have been stolen from innocent residents.

The suspects are currently undergoing screening. The CP, Benneth Igweh psc, mni, has informed the public about Operation Velvet, launched on 10/02/2024. This operation involves all tactical teams of the Command and aims to tackle vehicular criminality and other crimes in the Territory.
