The NBA Security Agencies Relations Committee Hotlines
Addressing Challenges Faced By Lawyers From Security Agencies.
In response to the growing need for lawyers to report any abuse or hindrance experienced by security agencies, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has established the Security Agencies Relations Committee. Under the leadership of Mr. Chukwuka Ikwuazom, SAN, the committee aims to address challenges faced by legal practitioners in their interactions with security agencies.
The committee’s objectives include monitoring security agency activities to ensure compliance with the law, providing training for security personnel, and fostering better cooperation between lawyers and security agencies. As part of its mandate, the committee has launched dedicated hotlines for lawyers to report incidents of abuse or obstruction by security personnel while carrying out their professional duties.
Lawyers can reach out to the committee through the following hotlines:
- MTN: 0703 627 8113
- Airtel: 09028795675
These hotlines are available for lawyers to call in cases of emergencies or instances where their public interest is compromised. A former Chairman of the NBA Gwagwalada Branch, Mr. Isah Abubakar Aliyu, the secretary of the committee, urges lawyers to utilize these channels to ensure their safety and uphold the integrity of the legal profession.
