Notably, during the Global Anti-Corruption Conference held in Atlanta, USA, on December 11th, 2023, the Honourable Attorney General, in collaboration with the Nigerian Delegation, articulated Nigeria’s commitments.

This significant event, marking the twentieth anniversary of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) and attended by over 150 member states, underscored key priorities for Nigeria in combating corruption.

These priorities, as outlined by the Honourable Attorney General on the official website of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, encompassed criminal justice reform, asset recovery, transparency in beneficial ownership, and the deterrence of illicit financial activities.

In light of these developments, it becomes imperative for legal practitioners to align their advocacy efforts towards ensuring transparency and accountability in Nigeria’s financial policies.

Sincerely,
Blessing Udofa-Poromon,
(Exchequer of the Nobles)
