The tribunal, presided over by Justice Ezekiel Ajayi, delivered this landmark judgment via Zoom, emphasizing that Emmanuel Ombudagu, representing the PDP, is the legitimate winner.

Justice Ajayi further underscored that the petitioner successfully presented compelling evidence beyond a reasonable doubt, leading to this pivotal decision.

To provide context, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had initially announced Abdullahi Sule as the victor of the Nasarawa State governorship election in March. According to Prof. Ishaya Tanko, the INEC returning officer, Sule secured 347,209 votes, defeating his closest contender, David Ombugadu, the PDP candidate, who garnered 283,016 votes.

This landmark tribunal verdict has drawn significant attention, with prominent political figures, including ex-Governors Abdullahi Adamu and Tanko Al-makura, in attendance at the court during the proceedings. The decision sets the stage for potential political shifts and further legal actions in Nasarawa State.
