President Tinubu Welcomes Supreme Court Ruling on 2023 Presidential Election

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed his satisfaction with the recent Supreme Court ruling regarding the appeals against his victory in the 2023 presidential election. The Supreme Court dismissed the appeals filed by Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Peter Obi, his Labour Party (LP) counterpart, upholding President Tinubu’s election.

In a statement personally signed and released by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu welcomed the conclusion of the legal proceedings, emphasizing the importance of now coming together to work for the betterment of the nation.

The court’s unanimous verdict, delivered by Justice John I. Okoro, affirmed that the appeals brought by Atiku and Obi were devoid of merit and baseless. President Tinubu commended the dedication and professionalism of the Justices who presided over the matter, stating that the judgment further solidified Nigeria’s electoral jurisprudence and constitutional democracy.

President Tinubu expressed his unwavering faith in the Nigerian judiciary and its commitment to upholding the rule of law, even in the face of pressure and attempts at intimidation by some political figures.

Acknowledging that his party, the All Progressives Congress, had secured the popular mandate of Nigerians in the 2023 election, President Tinubu pledged to govern with honour and respect for the diverse opinions and unifying values of the nation’s citizens. He outlined his determination to continue serving all Nigerians and building a united, prosperous, and stronger country.

President Tinubu extended his gratitude to the people of Nigeria for their trust in him and promised to exceed their expectations in delivering good governance. He called for unity and patriotism in working together to improve the living conditions of Nigerians and build a more prosperous nation.
